  Unlike some stellar powers, the United Federation has never relied on swarm attacks of fighter craft. Instead it has traditionally relied on large starship manœuvres, supported by smaller attack craft. Corvettes, cutters and light attack craft serve the role that fighters fill in other naval organisations. |
